You cannot hit a target if you do not take the shot.
The great Hall of Fame Hockey player, Wayne Gretsky said, “you miss 100% of the shots you never take.” The story is told of a little boy who was shooting at the moon with his bee-bee gun, and a man came along and said, boy, don’t you know that you will never hit the moon, and the little boy said “I’m coming closer than you are.” You’ve got to shoot and shoot and keep on shooting. Find a way to win, find a way to hit the target, and then means you must shoot and shoot and shoot till you win the trophy!
You cannot hit a target without a sense of joy as a result. A bulls eye always brings an adrenal response of excitement, elation, happiness, success and a sense of mission accomplished. It’s part of the prize, the sense of fulfillment, the challenge of competing, the fun along the way. Remember “success is a journey, not a destination.” The person you are becoming along the way is rich in character and rich in happiness and joy. Targeted living is the absolute best and incredibly blessed!
You must then be sure that you have created compelling targets for your dynamic life of fulfillment and accomplishment. You should have worthy targets for every area of your life. Compelling targets and compelling reasons are so powerful. Always start with the end in mind and build your targets with care and perfection. What is it that you would like to achieve? What sets your soul on fire? What would bring you so much fulfillment and pride to create? Apply this principle across the board to your entire life.
