The Power Principle of Targeted Living, part 7

January 5, 2009

As you think of your targets, you must always gravitate towards taking action on activity targets, because that’s where the true power is. You cannot change yesterday, “Elvis is dead, Get over it!” And you cannot change the future except in the present. The song writer said “There’s Just No Future in the Past.” The only control you have is what you do right now. Someone rightly said, “Wherever you are, be there!” That means living in the present. What you do in each moment of life will determine your future, and since it is that important, and powerful, why not plan it carefully?

Life targeting will give you more emotional stability along the journey of life because you will know where you are going and feel more in control of your life. People do crazy things when they feel out of control, and it’s normal for people to encroach upon the boundaries of others and try to control them. When you are living a life of careful targeting and achievement always working and taking action towards your dreams, a peace and emotional stability will come over your being and you will experience contentment like you have never known. Now instead of trying to control everyone because you feel so out of control, you will begin to share with others how they to can lead a life of success, victory, peace and joy, by accomplishing their great purpose in life. Now you can really contribute to the well being of others and make a significant difference in this world.

Many people do not set targets, because they are afraid of self-image damage if they set a target and do not hit it. Don’t worry about that. If you are a target creator, and stay focused on your life targets, taking daily action to reach them, you will find yourself automatically drawn to hitting them. You will add successes to your successes and your belief and self-confidence will automatically grow, as people with written targets hit a hundred times more than a person without them.

The great Hall of Fame Hockey player, Wayne Gretsky said, “you miss 100% of the shots you never take.” The story is told of a little boy who was shooting at the moon with his bee-bee gun, and a man came along and said, boy, don’t you know that you will never hit the moon, and the little boy said “I’m coming closer than you are.” You’ve got to shoot and shoot and keep on shooting. Find a way to win, find a way to hit the target, and then means you must shoot and shoot and shoot till you win the trophy!
